Increased serum fructosamine levels are observed in diabetic patients with elevated blood glucose concentrations. Diabetes related complications may be reduced by long-term monitoring and control of blood glucose levels.
Fructosamine is a useful medium term indicator whereas measurement of blood glucose is a short term indicator. Randox fructosamine employs a specific enzymatic method for the direct determination in serum or plasma.
Randox fructosamine uses an enzymatic method which is more specific than traditional NBT methods. Enzymatic fructosamine also correlates very closely to the HPLC reference method.
