Many scientists have been lead to believe that Rainin LTS LiteTouch System Pipettes and Tips are more expensive than universal pipetting systems. This is not the case and believing this could put your health at risk.

The Rainin LTS LiteTouch System was first introduced by Anachem Ltd to the UK Life Science market in 1999, it was the first new tip and shaft design for over 30 years. LTS was introduced with the launch of the Rainin EDP3 Electronic pipette, the range expanded over time to include manual, electronic, single and multichannel pipettes. The wide product range all feature the latest developments in ergonomic grips or technology in electronic pipetting.

Specifically designed to reduce the cause of Repetitive Strain Injuries, the LTS tips and pipette shaft were both designed to create a strong seal over a small well defined area. This enables a reliable and consistent seal between the tip and shaft with minimal effort required to mount and eject the tips.
Both LTS tips and pipette shafts are cylindrical in design rather than the conical design of traditional pipettes and tips. These LiteTouch tips are thin-walled and incorporate a small, well-defined seal and a positive stop. The stop allows the user to feel exactly when the seal is made and prevents over-insertion of the pipette shaft into the pipette tip. There is no need to “jam” or pound tips onto the shaft to seal,  LTS tips provide a leak-free seal on single and multichannel pipettes first time, every time.

A traditional multichannel pipette and tip requires an average of 8kg of force and hand-tightening to assure a proper fit. LTS tips load on Rainin LTS multichannel pipette with only 2kg force and ensure consistent and even sample loading across all channels.

LTS Lite-Touch Tip Ejection System reduces pipetting forces by up to 95%, it enables tips to be loaded in as little as 2 seconds with a perfect fit, making them the easiest pipettes to use.
