The PHERAstar Plus is a multifunction microplate reader from BMG LABTECH that can be used for High Throughput Screening (HTS) and academic laboratories where speed and sensitivity are needed to achieve better results.
Having separate measurement and electronic systems, the PHERAstar Plus obtains some of the lowest possible signal to noise ratios (S:N) in many different detection modes, including fluorescence intensity, luminescence, UV-Vis absorbance, time-resolved fluorescence, TR-FRET, fluorescence polarization, and AlphaScreen®.
Additional features include a laser for AlphaScreen®/AlphaLISA® assays as well as Simultaneous Dual Emission (SDE) detection.
SDE can have great benefits in assays like single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) detection where up to three emission signals are collected, SDE significantly reduces the SNP misread rate to 0.001% from 3.0%.
